Haifa3D is a volunteer nonprofit organization that focuses on the national project “Give me a hand” as part of the global e-NABLE community project.

3D printed Functional Hand Prosthesis
This project is intended for designing and manufacturing, on a desktop 3D printer, a custom hand operated by the arm or wrist. The hand is given free of charge to every child and adult in the Israeli realm that such a hand can improve their quality of life, with professional support over time.

It is important to emphasize that beyond the improvement of physical function, there is also a very important psychological empowerment effect. From our experience and accumulated experience in the US, the “bionic” hand enhances the personal feeling and social status of the child.

The Flexor (“Spling”)
A rehabilitative accessory product designed for people with spasticity in children and adults.

The current practice available for the spastic hand problem is a brace or splint. Yet, a splint keeps the hand in a static posture without any functionality. Due to its rigidity, the splint prevents various hand movements and fingers.

In contrast, the flexor allows for voluntary closing of the fingers, with many advantages over a brace, including:
• Has the flexibility to perform a variety of daily operations. Such as holding a cup, bottle and utensils or operating a mobile phone and remote control
• Assists in continuous physical therapy rehabilitation
• Does not restrict hand movement
• You can sleep and shower with it
• Easily put and remove
• Tailored to fit the patient (palm and fingers)
• Adapted to the degree of patient spasticity (by determining the spring strength in the product)
• Requires minimal maintenance (only for repair needs)
The product was developed by the association with the recommendation and endorsement of qualified physiotherapists.
